Westchester, New York Ski Shops

Best for Top Quality Selection & Customer Service. You may pay a small premium here, but it’s well worth it for access to their outstanding selection. Select European brands seek H&T as one of their first retail partners when launching in the U.S.

Hickory and Tweed uniquely does not require a deposit for leases and is the only shop in the area to rent stock race equipment. (Junior packages run ~ $90 - $160 for the season). Best for Selection of High Quality Gear. With roots going back 45+ years and 3 locations - two in Westchester and one in Stamford, CT - Pedigree has a wide selection of high quality gear at reasonable prices. They also offer tune ups and daily rentals.


Seasonal Ski Rental Program: Receive a 10% discount for registering online for an in store appointment Monday - Friday. Choose between new and used gear. Junior packages range from $139 - $199 for used gear and $229 - $379 for new gear.



Sports Barn Ski and Sport

Best One-Stop Shop. Family owned since 1978, and located in Yorktown Heights, this shop serves mid-to-northern Westchester. They have a good selection of gear to purchase along with options to rent new or used equipment.


Season Ski Rental Program: Season rentals program begins October 1. Junior packages start at $149 for used gear and $229 for new gear.


Ski Haus


Best for Convenience En Route. Conveniently located just north of Westchester County on Route 22 in Putnam County, Ski Haus is easily accessible en route to many of New York’s ski areas including Thunder Ridge, Catamount, Belleayre, Windham and Jiminy Peak. Operating since 1962, Ski Haus has a solid reputation with quality products, competitive pricing and great customer service. They also offer custom ski and snowboard boot fittings.


Season Ski Rental Program: Junior packages start at $129.95 while supplies last. Each ski and snowboard rental includes a junior ski voucher to Killington/Pico or Jiminy Peak.

 

New Jersey Ski Shops

Ski Barn


Best for knowledgable staff. Family owned and operated since 1971, Ski Barn has some of the most helpful staff in the area and the Wayne location has an expert team of former racers. New Jersey's largest ski and snowboard retailer, Ski Barn does 20,000+ rentals a year across four New Jersey locations – Paramus, Wayne, Lawrenceville, and Shrewsbury. Their seasonal rental program is reasonably priced and customers are rewarded for loyalty.


Season Ski Rental Program: Secure seasonal rentals early, ideally by September, they tend to sell out early. Junior packages start at $119.95 for used gear. New gear packages are $189. Returning customers save 10% when they keep a deposit at Ski Barn during off. Bonus, children five and under can rent used equipment for free with an accompanying sibling rental. Rental customers also receive free or discounted lift tickets to Jiminy Peak, Killington and Westmountain as well as 20% off of helmets and goggles.


High Country Ski & Tennis


Best for customer service. High Country has been serving the ski (and tennis needs) of Northern NJ for the past 30 years. They offer high end gear, custom boot fitting and seasonal rentals. High Country will track down gear and match online competitors.


Season Ski Rental Program: Used gear packages for juniors start at $149, new gear starts at $149. Come early, receive $10 - $20 off of seasonal rentals in August and Septmeber.

 

New York City Ski Shops


Paragon Sports


Best for Selection of High End Equipment. Paragon, located in Union Square, is the ultimate for convenience for Manhattanites and one of the only places in the city to offer a full line of equipment. Though not exclusively a ski store, they carry higher-end boots and do fittings. Pro tip - visit in the Fall, Paragon tends to sell out of select brands before the season even begins. Don't miss Paragon's late September warehouse sale for last year's gear, we've picked up top quality gear and low prices.


Season Ski Rental Program: Secure seasonal rentals early. Junior packages start at $170 for used gear and $270 for new gear.


Panda Sport


Best for knowledgable staff. Located in Brooklyn, Panda Ski and Sport has been offering quality equipment and advice to customers since 1987. It is a terrific place for New York City residents to rent or purchase their skis for the season, with a high quality selection, excellent customer service and reasonable prices.


Season Ski Rental Program: Secure seasonal rentals early. Junior packages start at $139.95 for used gear and $249.95 for new gear.
