On Mountain Childcare

  • Program: Camp Snowbird

  • Ages:  6 weeks - 12 years

    • Nursery: 6 weeks - 2 years​

    • Camp: 2 years - 12 years

  • Hours: 8:30AM - 4:30PM (Full Day)

                8:30AM - 12:30PM (AM Half Day) ​

                12:30PM - 4:30PM (PM Half Day)

  • Activities: age-dependent - storytelling, art, indoor and outdoor play, music, toys

  • Ski Option: Ages 3+ should consider the Mountain School​, where time is split between small group ski instruction and day care like activities

    • Under 3 can check with private lessons for day of availablity (not guaranteed in advance)​

Private Lessons for Kids

  • Location: Plaza Deck (L3), Snowbird Center

  • Ages: 3+

  • Lesson Size: 1 - 5 people

  • Level: All-levels, recommended that students are similar ages and ability level

  • Hours: Full Day and Half Day options

      - Full Day: 9AM - 4PM 

      - Half Day AM: 9AM - 12PM

      - Half Day PM: 1PM - 4PM​

Other Kids Activities 

There is not much for smaller children to do outside of Camp Snowbird and Ski School. Most of the lodges have board games, puzzles, DVD rentals, and to borrow.

  • Snowbird offers in-room babysitting services for hotel guests; max 4 children / sitter

Group Lessons for Kids

SB Ski School

AGE 3 - Chickadee (Ski Only)

  • Group Size: 2, 1-hour private ski lessons with full day session

  • Requirements: Must be potty-trained and willing to ski

  • Structure: 1 hour private lesson in morning and 1 hour in the afternoon

                    - Spend rest of day in Camp Snowbird with indoor activities

  • Lesson Focus: for beginning / novice skiers; introduction to fundamentals, gaining confidence, learning to turn and stop

AGE 4 - 6 - Kinderbirds (Ski or Snowboard)

  • Requirements: Most be potty-trained and willing to ski

                          7 year olds that are just starting out may also join​

  • Group size: Ski- up to 3 children per instructor                       

                       Ride - 1 or 2 children per instructor​​

  • Structure: Spend up to 2 hours (with breaks) on the snow in the AM and PM

  • Lesson Focus: Turning, stopping, becoming comfortable on skis, magic carpet, chair lifts, progress reports given 

AGES 7 - 15 - Adventure Club (Ski or Snowboard)

  • Group Size: up to 8 children per instructor (usually 5 - 6)

  • Ski Time: 9:30 AM - 3 PM

  • Lesson Focus: Theme-oriented activities, mountain scavenger hunts, races and obstacles courses, focus on ski safety fun and learning, progress reports given

OTHER SPECIAL GROUP LESSONS - WOMEN, NOVICES, EXPERTS

  • Women's SKi Camps - 3 or 4-Day ski program for Intermediate and Advanced Women offered on select weeks; opening reception, après reception; special guest instructors;

  • Adult Mountain Experience: 5 hour workshop on the best bumps, groomers, steeps of the day

  • Adult Beginner Special: 2.5 hour lesson with access to beginner lift only

Snowbird has outstanding learning facilities for novices through the expert skiers and riders. Everyone can learn something here. Prices are also more reasonable than other resorts of this caliber.
